FUNDACÁNCER has announced that the Susie Thayer Family Walk in its XVII version will take place on Sunday, August 28, in Panama City, starting from the Coastal Strip administrative buildings and simultaneously in other nine town across the country such as Colón (Calle 16 to 4 Altos), La Chorrera (Plaza Italia), Penonome (Parque 8 de diciembre), Chitré (Parque Unión), Santiago (Parque Juan Demóstenes Arosemena), Changuinola (Plaza Changuinola), Aguadulce (Parque 19 de octubre), David (Parque Cervantes) and in the main Tole Avenue (also in Chiriqui).
This annual activity is an important event to raise funds for the programs involved in the buying of equipment for the National Oncology Institute, and is directed towards the improvement of quality of life for cancer patients across the country.
Dr. Juan Pablo Barés, president of the Fundacancer board of directors said that in the past 17 years it has been possible to equip most departments of the National Oncology Institute and this year the funds will buy a high tech ventilator for adults and children to be used in the Intensive Care service, as well as a CD burner for X-Ray Multimodal radiographic studies.
Fundacancer Executive Director, Alexandra Castro Novey, pointed out that this year renowned local personalities will take part in the walk.
