Fundraiser for Panamanian Artists. On Wednesday July 13, the party “Rumbo a la Decima”, which aims to collect funds to send Panamanian artistes to the Central American Biennial in Costa Rica, will take place at Casa Nolita, in Calle 49, Bella Vista. The event is organized by the Aleman Healy Foundation (FundAHte), which for the tenth time has assured Panama’s presence in the most important artistic encounter of the region.
The Central American Biennial takes places every two years and since its inception in Guatemala in 1998, Panama has participated every year, thanks to the efforts of Carmen Alemán Healy (Grupo Arteconsult y FundAHrte) and the Fernández Pirla Foundation.
This year the Biennial will be in San Jose, Costa Rica in September and 15 Panamanian artistes and groups will take part. FundAHrte is arranging the work production, plane tickets, accommodation and the logistics of the national and international events through donations and sponsorships.
“Rumbo a la Décima” not only supports the Biennial, but also invites the public to get to know more about the participating artistes and their work. The party will have a silent auction where the public can bid on the works of Panamanian artists such as Cisco Merel, Fernando Toledo, Gabriela Esplá, and Sandra Eleta.
There will be performances of the urban poet, Jaguar Clandestino, and the legendary band ‘The Beachers’ of Bocas del Toro. Tickets cost $15.00 and are for sale at Galería Arteconsult, FundAHrte and Casa Nolita.
