On Monday, September 12 the municipality of La Chorrera will hold its 161st anniversary, and various activities are planned for the occasion.
On Friday, September 9, a walk/race for all ages will be held at 7 a.m. in the Libertador Park. That same day the final of the “Copa Jaime Govea” football competition will be played and a free concert at the Chia Ureña amphitheater will take place at 7 pm.
On Sunday September 11, the celebrations continue with a civic parade that will include the participation of government institutions, civic clubs, independent bands and local and invited schools from other provinces. This parade will wind through the streets of La Chorrera starting from Las Americas Avenue and ending at the El Pueblo supermarket.
Formal events will take place on Monday, September 12 at the Palacio Municipal, Luis Emilio Veces from 11 a.m. A thanksgiving mass will be held at the church of San Francisco on the same day.
The activities culminate on Saturday, September 17, with a parade and folk festival by the group “Gary Chacon” in the Feuillet Park from 9 a.m. All events and activities are free. For more information visit www.LaChorrera.Municipios.gob.pa.
