Istmo Yoga Adventure Retreat. Istmo Yoga and Adventure Retreat and Boutique Hotel, located in the San Carlos area, is a short hour and 20 minute drive from Panama City. Escape the city and disconnect from the world in your own cozy bungalow surrounded by nature so that you feel as if you are stepping into a remote slice of tropical paradise.

The Retreat nestles in the jungle, steps away from a secluded Pacific beach and consists of 7 attractive bungalows all with a/c, a restaurant serving gourmet seafood and healthy vegetarian cuisine, a hardwood yoga studio, massage facilities, a meditation labyrinth, stand-up-paddle-board classes and rentals. The attentive staff will make sure you are well taken care of, and return home rejuvenated.

Upon arrival you will be greeted by owners Sean and Ayesha Davis. Sean is a professionally trained chef who runs the restaurant, which is only open to hotel guests. He is originally from the U.S., but has spent the second half of his life in Latin America, of which the last 13 years have been in Panama. He also teaches Stand Up Paddleboarding (SUP) classes as well as leading a variety of SUP excursions on the waterways of Panama.

Ayesha, originally from India, oversees the administration of Istmo and is a formally trained Yoga teacher. She teaches the weekend Yoga classes. They work hard to make your stay relaxing and rejuvenating. As a retreat center they can host groups of up to 22 people, (wellness, yoga, corporate, family/friends). Throughout the year they operate as a boutique hotel as well as offering their signature SUP and Yoga retreats and a variety of local and international retreats organized by other individuals.
