The Atlantic & Pacific restaurant, located in the Miraflores Visitors’ Center has literally the best view of the Canal in town. Visitors can watch as ships are lowered or raised through the locks a stone’s throw away while enjoying lunch, dinner or relaxing with a drink. This restaurant is a mandatory stop after a visit to the exhibits housed in the Center.
The restaurant offers a casual environment, with a nostalgic decor, with images from the Canal construction era and furniture from the turn of the century. The menú features dishes that gently combine Panamanian traditional ingredients and flavors served with a modern and international twist.
Every day from noon to 5 p.m a varied buffet with cold and hot dishes is served. From Tuesday to Saturday starting at 5 p.m. until 11 p.m. there is an a la carte menu with signature dishes such as “chicken and rice”, “croquettes and alioli”, “ropa vieja gorditas” (a Mexican-Panamanian dish) and “pineapple baked seabass”. To finish the meal try the caramel flan with crunchy cashews. These dishes are the creation of Chef Julio Loli, who has worked in the best restaurants in Miami until his move to Panama, when he joined the Atlantic & Pacific team.
The restaurant also has a private events room with capacity for up to 150 people, however the best area of the restaurant is its outdoor terrace with the direct view of the ships in the locks. It offers different types of buffets, selected menus and open bar for parties or corporate meetings.
The Miraflores Visitor Center with its Atlantic & Pacific restaurant is located on Gaillard Avenue, in front of the Miraflores Locks. For information and reservations call 232-3120 or contact Reservaciones@AtlanticPacificRestaurant.com
