The mountain town of Boquete will have its second Book Fair from Thursday, September 28 to Sunday, October 1. This activity organized by the Boquete Library Foundation which seeks to bring the joy of reading, not only to inhabitants of this small hamlet, but also to the people from the Chiriqui province.
On this occasion national and Costa Rican writers will be presenting their works and a cultural delegation of the U.S. Embassy in Panama is also supporting the fair. There will be a book sale by editorials at reasonable prices, conferences, workshops, storytelling for the little ones and artistic presentations.
The Panamanian writer, Hidris Herman Stapf will give a conference about book “Tales, Legends and Stories of Chiriqui at 2:30 p.m. at the Boquete Library on Thursday, September 28.
During the Boquete Book Fair the Panamanian historian writer, Milagros Sanchez Pinzon will receive a special commendation. For the last few years she has published books about the history and the tourist attraction of the Chiriqui province.
Additionaly to the aforementioned activities, there will be a costume contest where children will have the opportunity to dress up as their favorite literary character which will bring a sense of fun to the proceedings. The competition will take place on Sunday, October 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Contestants should be registered by Friday, September 15. The organizers have also asked people to donate new children books, so they can be distributed among the young ones.
