New exhibit of the religious artifacts. Almost 53 artifacts found in archeological excavations and restauration of the Santa Maria La Antigua Cathedral were delivered to the Historical Heritage National Office (DNPH for its initials in Spanish) by the Churches of Casco Antiguo Friends Committee (CAICA).

Among the articles found are ornament for ossuary, buckles, tacks, coins, buttons, glass bottles, spear tips, ceramic fragments, porcelain and nails. These articles were used during the burials that used to take place in that church during the XIX century.

The CAICA also gave back rosaries with different kind of crucifixes and medals among others that will be exhibited in a special room located in the Sacristy of the San Jose Church.

Fray Javier Mañas, representing CAICA, said that by giving back these artifacts the association seeks for the people to see the rescue objects that were found thanks to their archeological work,

The National Institute of Culture (INAC), through the DNPH, has signed different cultural agreements with the idea that the historical valued object can be preserved by those who assume its custody of this valuable collection.
