Rock stars of the 80s in Panama

‘Journey’, ‘Toto’, ‘Kansas’ and ‘Chicago’ are coming to Panama in the Rock Pack America Tour 2017 which will take place on Tuesday, November 21, when they will bring nostalgia and great music to the Riu Hotel from 8:00 p.m. This is one of the most important classic rock events of the year, with some of the bands that marked a whole generation.

The Rock Pack has been on the road since June 2017 and will end on February 2018 in Missouri, United States. During their tour they have visited Costa Rica, Canada, Trinidad and Tobago, Puerto Rico, the United States and Panama.

The American rock group ‘Toto’ became famous in 1982 with its album ‘Toto IV’. It has been nominated for the Grammy awards nine times, winning seven of them, including record of the year with its hit “Rosanna”, which made the group one of the most successful of the decade with regards to records sold. The original vocalist of this super band, Bobby Kimball, will sing classic songs such as “Africa”, “Hold the line”, “Rosanna”, “Make Believe”, among others.

Another of the bands that influenced the 80s was ‘Journey’ with powerful ballads such as “Don’t Stop Believing’”, “Faithfully”, “Open Arms” and “Who’s Crying Now” will come to life one more time with the voice of Kevin Chalfant, one of the original members of ‘Journey’, who has received several BMI Awards.

Rockpack America Tour 2017 will also have a performance by Bill Champlin, who for 28 years was one of the vocalists of the famous band ‘Chicago’. He will interpret well-known hits such as “Look Away”, “I Dont Wanna Live Without Your Love”, “Color my World” and “Hard Habit to Break”. Champlin sang and wrote more than 400 songs in his musical career, many of them for ‘Chicago’. Tamara Champlin, Bill’s wife, will be a special guest and will sing the ballad “You Won´t Get to Heaven Alive”.

John Elefante, who was the lead singer for the rock band’Kansas’ from 1982 to 1985, will close this extraordinary parade of stars. He made important contributions to the albums “Vinyl Confession” and “Drastic Measures”. The single “Play the Game Tonight” was the most successful of the “Vinyl Confessions”, occupying the fourth place in the Mainstream Rock Tracks.

The album “Drastic Measures” reached the 41st position in the l Billboard 200, while the single “Fight Fire with Fire” occupied the third place in the Mainstream Rock Track. Elefante, who has won several Dove Awards and four Grammys will also sing classic rock anthems such as “Dust in the Wind”, “Carry on wayward son”, “Point of no return”, “Play the game tonight”, among others.
