Showing the richness of the Highlands
The Highlands Fair, which will take place in Volcán, Chiriqui province, showcases the great variety of flowers, vegetables and fruits which are produced in the areas of Volcán and Cerro Punta. From Thursday 14 to Sunday, December 17, producers from the nearby towns bring their produce, as well as handicraft and other articles, to exhibit and sell.
In addition to the exhibits, there will performances by folkloric groups. This is an excellent opportunity to appreciate the culture of the Ngobe Bugle Indian tribe which is predominant in this zone. Unlike the Flower Parade, in which the flowers are the main focus, this fair focuses on agricultural goods.
Volcan and Cerro Punta have temperate temperatures all year round. There are several national parks and springs near the fairground. There are flights from the International Airports of Tocumen and Marcos Gelabert to the Chiriqui terminal, Enrique Malek. From there you can take a bus to Volcán and Cerro Punta.
