Evening of quartets in El Valle
Music is an integral part of the El Valle community and for more than 20 years the El Valle Music Festival has become one of the favorite events of classical music lovers, who come to this mountain town not only to rest and explore the beautiful surroundings but to listen to the best musicians from Latin America and Panama.
The festival will take place on Saturday, January 27, at 8:00 pm in the Iglesia de San Jose in El Valle de Anton. Tickets at $25 are on sale at Centro Comercial de El Valle and will also be available at the entrance to the church before the performance. Funds collected go to supporting various programs which the Iglesia de San Jose provides, in particular a retirement home for the elderly.
The Music Festival of El Valle will be dedicated this year to quartets who will present a program ranging from Baroque pieces to jazz. The guest artistes are the String Quartet Belle Art, formed by Susana Salas, first violin; Vianet Garcia, second violin; Jose Pajuense, viola and María Eugenia Prado, violoncello. The other group is the Quartet Versatile composed of Valentín Martinez, flute; Luis Troetsch, piano; Ricardo Zúñiga, double bass and Ella Ponce, percussion.
The String Quartet Belle Art will interpret the “Four Seasons” (selections) by Antonio Vivaldi; “Por una cabeza “ by Carlos Gardel; “Summer of the Four Seasons of Buenos Aires” by Astor Piazzola and “Oblivion” by Astor Piazolla.
The Quartet Versatile will play “Suite for Flute and Jazz Piano Trio” by Claude Bolling, which consists of the following movements “Baroque and Blue”, “Sentimentale”, “Javanaise”, “Fugace”, “Irlandaise”, “Versatile” and “Veloce”.
