Flowers and Coffee at the Boquete Fair
Boquete is a small town in the highlands of the Chiriqui province. This Hamlet is not only famous for its climate, but also for its fairs. The Flowers and Coffee Fair, better known as the Boquete Fair, is one of the most recognized in Panama and will take place from Thursday 11 to Sunday, January 21.
The aim of the fair is to exhibit the great variety of flowers that are grown in the region, as well as commercialize flowers and plants, handicraft, jams, typical food, jewelry, clothes, cars and other services.
Its grounds are located in the center of Bajo Boquete on the banks of the Caldera River, near the Boquete Central Park.
The fair has taken place for more than 50 years and since then Panamanians and foreigners visit Boquete to admire the gardens that have taken months to prepare.
Last year, more than 200 exhibitors were present at the fair between flower and coffee growers and artisans from Panama, Central and South America. It is expected that this year more exhibitors will come. In 2017 over 150,000 people visited the fair.
Visitors will see more than 15 gardens and exotic flowers from Europe, United States and Canada, as well as other attractions. They can also enjoy the taste of good coffee produced in the highlands of this district,that on many occasions has participated in international competitions, obtaining important prizes.
