American society of Panama inaugurates new president

The American Society of Panama will be installing its new board of directors on Saturday, May 26 at the Santa Maria Luxury Collection Hotel. The outgoing president, Glenn Simon, will welcome the new president, Anita Littesy, an English teacher and computer sciences graduate from Florida.


Simon, who is the General Manager of the Wyndham Panama Albrook Mall and Executive Director of the Bristol Hospitality Group, has been a very active member of The American Society of Panama and has served as its president for the periods 2015, 2016 and 2018. His activism and positive, proactive approach have impacted the organization during his term.


During his tenure, the American Society celebrated its 85th Anniversary with a Christmas gala dinner dance at the Golden Tower of the Americas Hotel. In 2018. Simon increased funding for the two scholarship programs for a total of $27,000, with a number of silent art auctions.


The new president, Anita Littesy is a dedicated English teacher, owner of ATINA Language Consultants and member of TESOL (Teach English to Students of other Languages) Chapter Panama and regularly volunteers to teach underprivileged children at the Calicanto Foundation in Casco Antiguo.
