The Indian community has been a part of Panamanian culture for decades and every year the Hare Krishna International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) organizes the Great Festival of India. This year it will take place on Saturday, June 2 at the parking lot of the Miramar Intercontinental Hotel. Entrance is free.

The event will begin at 3:00 p.m. with a parade that will depart from the Miramar Intercontinental Hotel heading toward the Amphitheater of the Coastal Strip Pacific Lookout, where a series of activities will take place.

Two dancers enjoy the music at last year’s festival.

This festival will have live music, dance, a totally free Indian banquet, talks, stands selling Indian items and much more.

The Great Festival of India was celebrated for the first time in Panama in 2005 and since then it has become one of the most anticipated events for the month of June and a great opportunity to experience this ancient culture.
