Representatives of the Union of Captains and Deck Officers (UCOC) recently filed a criminal complaint with the Commission of Crimes Against Liberty, in the modality of inviolability of secrecy and the right to privacy, against three directors of the Panama Canal Authority (ACP). The complaint is due to the fact that on April 27, 2018 the directors ordered the telephone intervention, without prior judicial authorization, of 10 telephone lines of the UCOC offices, with the purpose of spying and recording their conversations.
