True love at this delluxe Bocas lodge

Guests who come to “luxuriate” on Isla Carenero at the Vista Azul Lodge in Bocas del Toro quickly find that love is at the center of this 5,000 square foot seven-bedroom guest house. This property is especially popular for a honeymoon getaway, a getaway with a large group of friends or a destination wedding on the white sandy beach. When Peter and Andrea Kent decided to share their dream home with others, they did it out of love. And fittingly so, as they came together just as the house was finishing construction and have been together ever since.

Falling in love

Peter always wanted to build his dream home. After many bachelor years of designing and building homes for others, he finally decided to start building his dream home for himself. In 2003, as the home was nearing completion, Peter’s “gringo friends” from Costa Rica came to visit him with one of their daughters in tow. Conveniently, they fell in love with each other! As it turned out, this was perfect timing for Andrea to fall in love with Peter (and Bocas), because as a professional Interior Designer the home was ready for Andrea’s personal touches. Together, and with love, Peter and Andrea finished their dream home, and now fully furnished, with all the comforts needed to enjoy a relaxing holiday, they have opened the door, and are welcoming tourists in.

Deluxe private lodge

Vista Azul Lodge sits prominently on a piece of paradise, just a five minute boat ride from the main town of Bocas and it’s airport. Bocas Town provides all the entertainment needed for an enjoyable vacation. The community of Bocas is alive with Caribbean culture and tropical beaches, without the threat of hurricanes.

The surroundings are perfect for walking on the shoreline and hearing the symphony of birds singing in harmony with nature. Jungle hikes, snorkeling with exotic fish, surfing, seashell hunting, and evening bonfires on the beach with occasional luminescent waters; all this and more is literally right at your doorstep. Day trips include diving, zip-line canopy tours and other water and nature adventure tours.

The large open kitchen and dining room make cooking and entertaining a real joy. The main floor and upstairs rooms flow out to the terraces which overlook the jungle in the back and the ocean waters, headland and nearby islands.
