to her new bakery in Bella Vista.

A new artisan bakery has opened in Bella Vista. “Dulces Maité” specializes in “alfajor”, a traditional cookie in Spain and Latin American countries. They are especially popular in Argentina, from where the owners hail. “Alfajor” literally means “filling” and describes the use of jellies, jams, marmalades or other sweet mixtures to unite two cookies. The tradition was introduced to Spain when Arabs began entering the European continent.

Owner Maria Teresa “Maité” Olivares takes great pride in her alfajores, available at the new cafeteria located on Calle 38 E in Bella Vista, 150 meters from Balboa Avenue in the ground floor of Edificio Rosalía. Coffee and refreshments are available to accompany your order. Open from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Call 391-2332 or 6600-7144 for more information.
